Group's name:

The group shall be called CARLETON RODE HISTORY GROUP.

Aims & objectives:

To research the history of the social, agricultural, architectural and economic
changes within the parish of Carleton Rode.

To make an educational understanding of the village available to the public
via books, tapes, photographs etc.

Membership:

The group welcomes any interested parties willing to contribute to, or assist
with, our research. An annual membership fee of £5, payable on 1st
November, will be reviewed at the A.G.M.

The group will be regularly advertised in the Parish magazine, along with
updates of our progress.

General business:

The affairs of the group shall be controlled by a committee comprising the
Officers (Chairman, secretary & treasurer) and 2 other members elected
from, and by, the Members of the group. The Committee shall meet at agreed
intervals and not less than 4 times per year.

Committee:

All officers and members of the committee shall be elected at the Annual
General Meeting of the group from and by, the Members of the group on a
democratic basis, for a period of one year, but may be re-elected to the same
office or another office the following year.

Duties:

The duties of the committee shall be:

To control the affairs of the group.

To keep accurate accounts of the group finances through the
Treasurer.

These should be available for reasonable inspection by members
and should

be audited before and available at the AGM.

To maintain a Bank Account in the group name requiring at least
two named

and unrelated committee members to sign each cheque .

To make decisions on the basis of a simple majority vote.

The chair shall be entitled to an additional casting vote in the
event of tied

votes.

General Meetings:

The Annual General Meeting shall take place at the end of October/beginning
of November annually.

During the AGM the Chair shall give a report to the Members of the activities
that the group has undertaken during the previous year. A copy of the audited
accounts will be available for inspection and discussion.

An election will take place to elect, or re-elect, a committee.

The annual membership fee will be reviewed, if necessary.

Should any alterations to the Constitution be deemed necessary these shall be
made at the AGM.

Dissolution:

Should it be necessary to dissolve the group, for whatever reason, then any
assets, in the form of money, will be given to local community organisations.
Any assets, in the form of research materials, will be given to the Norfolk
Studies Unit.
